What we collect

Deer Vitals collects nothing about you unless you join the list. There is no account, no sign-in, no tracking and no cookies. The shots you place stay on your phone.

Visit counts

The website counts visits with Vercel Web Analytics: the page opened, the site that sent you, your rough location (country, region and city), and your browser, system and device type. It uses no cookies, is not tied to your IP address and cannot tell who you are. A visit is recognized for 24 hours, then forgotten. The iOS app sends none of this.

The camera

Field View uses your camera and motion sensors to show the deer in your surroundings. The picture goes straight to your screen. It is never recorded, saved or sent, and the camera turns off when you leave Field View.

If you join the list

We store your email address, where you joined from (the Practice summary or the Setup tab), your Practice score at the time if you joined there, and the date and time. That is the whole record.

We use it to send Deer Vitals news, new species and features, and the occasional giveaway. We never sell it and never share it for anyone else's marketing.

Where it lives

The list is held in a database run by Supabase. The app is served by Vercel, and the iOS app is delivered by Apple through the App Store and TestFlight. Like any web service, Vercel and Supabase see the ordinary technical details of a request, such as your IP address and device type, in server logs kept briefly for security. We do not use them to identify you.

Sharing a card

When you share or save a shot or score card, the image goes only where you send it. We never see it.

How long we keep it

Your address stays on the list until you ask us to remove it or we close the list. Reply to any email we send, or write to the address below, and we will delete it within 30 days.

Children

Deer Vitals is for hunters and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect an email address from anyone under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Anything that affects your address will be announced on the list first.
